Course description
The course is intended for teachers and instructors operating in schools, Universities and training centres. The certified operator is able to adopt Cloud services and technologies for managing, creating and delivering didactic contents and to organize new Cloud-based didactic activities, evaluating the utility and the cost- effectiveness of the solutions.
The holder of the certification “Cloud Professional for” Education” could work in the following business areas:
- Cloud Assistant/ Consultant
- Entry-Level Cloud Systems Engineer
- Administrative Support IT professional
- Junior Cloud Administrator- Datacenter operator (entry-level)
- Database Administrator Assistant
Prerequisites
 2-3 years of experience in ICT services
Objectives
The course provides the basics of Cloud computing and an outline of the main Cloud applications for teaching and learning. 
Program
1. Introduction to cloud computing
Students are expected to demonstrate theoretical knowledge and skills on: terms and basic concepts; virtualization methods (virtual servers, fail-safe resilient architectures, no-setup hosts, pay-for- use systems); cloud service users: owners, administrators, consumers, basic concept: on-demand computing power and data storage; cloud computing power sharing: advantages and problems; cloud storage sharing (adaptive computing power and data storage): advantages and problems; implementation mediums; storage services and technologies, non-relational and relational model comparison; service testing methodologies; a sound knowledge of the main cloud providers, i.e., entities that offer cloud computing services, including i) cloud infrastructure, ii) cloud platform, iii) cloud software, iv) cloud storage, and v) cloud security vendors and also on national providers and their main point of strength

2. Security basics
Students are expected to demonstrate factual knowledge/skills and competences on: authentication, authorization, and accounting; monitoring, auditing and logging; network security; security groups and virtual server images; cloud-based services and cloud-hosted solutions common security risks; counter-attack strategies and methods; risk analysis

3. Cloud Models
Students are expected to demonstrate sound knowledge/skills and competences on: Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model; Platform as a Service (PaaS) delivery model; Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) delivery model; public/private/hybrid/community deployment models; Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

4. Cloud services and applications for education and training (ET)
Students are expected to have an overview of: cloud services for education and training; collaborative resources and tools, document sharing and collaborative editing; storage services, Cloud training resources, online didactic resources, remote tools and experiments; cloud computing services, virtual machines; showcases of Cloud applications in education.

5. Legal and technical aspects of cloud computing for education and training
At the end of this unit the student will demonstrate factual knowledge/skills and competences on: legal requirements related to financial flows and procurement procedures in ET institutions; personal data management and protection; intellectual property rights regulations

Exercises
The assessment method is an online test/examination. A multiple choice questionnaire which includes at least one question for each key learning outcome. Only one answer of each question is correct.
